Interactive Vehicle Sales Dashboard
Project Overview
Welcome to the showcase of my recent project where I developed an interactive Power BI dashboard using Vehicle Sales Data from Kaggle. This dashboard provides an engaging and insightful visualisation of car sales data, allowing users to explore various aspects such as car prices by dealer, brand, and state.
Data Source and Preparation
To enhance the dataset and ensure accurate analyses, I performed extensive data cleaning and transformation. This included:
-
Downloading a separate dataset to relate in the BI model, specifically for converting state abbreviations to full names of USA states.
-
Changing and splitting columns to correct data types and ensure consistency across the dataset.
These preparatory steps were crucial for creating a robust and reliable data model within Power BI.
Key Features:
Interactive UI with Pull-Out Menu and Filter Bar
One of the main highlights of this dashboard is its highly interactive user interface. I designed a pull-out menu and filter bar using buttons and hidden pages, allowing users to easily navigate and filter the data according to their needs. This feature enhances user experience by providing a seamless and intuitive way to interact with the dashboard.
Shape Map Visualisation
To provide geographical insights, I implemented the Shape Map preview feature in Power BI. This feature allows users to visualise car sales data across different states with a map that highlights various regions. Custom Designs & Icons
In order to enhance the visual appeal of the dashboard, I created and imported custom designs. These designs add a unique touch to the visualisations, making the data representation more engaging and aesthetically pleasing.
Page Navigation and Layout
The dashboard consists of three main pages:
Overview Page: A summary of the key insights and visualisations.
Hidden Overview with Filters: An overview page featuring interactive filters for a more customised analysis.
Hidden Users Page: A dedicated table-view page for user-specific data and insights, accessible via navigation buttons.

Conclusion:
This project demonstrates my ability to leverage Power BI's advanced features to create an interactive and insightful dashboard. By combining various visualisation techniques, custom designs, and intuitive navigation, I was able to transform raw vehicle sales data into a powerful analytical tool. Feel free to explore the dashboard and discover the rich insights it offers.
